Beach Education

On Monday, Room 3 went to New Brighton Surf Club for Beach Education.  We learned how important it is to stay safe at the beach and how to be sun smart.  

We talked about 4 key words: 

Slip on a long-sleeved top

Slop on the sunscreen

Slap on a wide-brimmed hat

Wrap on a pair of sunnies

We had a great time playing games on the beach with the lifeguards and building sandcastles.

    

Back in the clubhouse, the lifeguards talked to us about making sure that we never swim or surf alone and that we always swim between the flags.  

Finally, it was time to run into the sea, splash around and jump over the waves!

We would like to extend a big Thank You to our wonderful parent helpers Sonya, Tania, Ariana, Melissa, and a special Thank You to Wayne for also being our chief photographer!

What an awesome day we had getting to know each other and our environment!

We spent some time using a variety of materials to create visual examples of what we got upto over the holidays.
